Not a good fit if

  • You need subtitle files (SRT or VTT) or word-level timestamps. Each speaker turn gets one start time, nothing finer.
  • You want live transcription of a call as it happens, or a YouTube link transcribed. Braindump works from files you upload.
  • You need the text translated. The transcript stays in the language spoken, and you pick that language before you upload.
  • Four or more people share one distant microphone. Speaker labels work best with 2 or 3 clear voices, so a busy room needs more fixing.
  • You need speaker labels in the iOS or Android app. For now they are on the web only.
